COLONIAL THEATRE WURLITZER ORGAN UPDATE  -- Jack Serdy

Both the main chamber and solo chamber have been completely renovated and painted.  These chambers were in very bad condition with loose plaster, holes in the walls, uneven floor and inadequate entry ways.  Therefore, a great deal of work and materials were required.

New lighting and electrical service receptacles were installed in both chambers and all wiring is complete.

The existing Kimball swell shades and actions were removed, refurbished, and reinstalled in both chambers.

Work has begun on the installation of the framing, wind chests, and reservoirs in the solo chamber.

The remaining old windlines from the previous installation were removed and scrapped.

Progress in the theatre is progressing at a good pace now because I have been fortunate to have four volunteers who are local and can work during the week.

KESWICK THEATRE  MOLLER ORGAN UPDATE  -- Tom Smerke

Tom Rotunno and I on our last visit to the Keswick worked on the Moller. The following was accomplished:

A list was compiled of stops that were not working and some were corrected, along with several manual keys not working reliably. Dirty

contacts had to be corrected. The blower turned on, pushed air through ranks of pipes, greased and oiled the blower, brass cleaned and polished rails, and exercised the keyboards.

We noted several 16 foot pipes had to be corrected; the sliders have to be worked on.

Tom Rotunno was able to exercise his fingers and the keys and played the organ for an extended time at which he had a chance to record. We talked with Judith, Keswick Business Administration Manager, closed the organ. shut the lights, and locked the building.

PICNIC AT JEAN AND JIM PERON’S HOME, Kirkwood, PA /  June 21st

Wow!  Officers, members, friends, and relatives had a delightful day with

Jean and Jim and their son, Ken.  The Conn 650 was enjoyed by  Ed Yeagley, Glenn Hough , Wayne Zimmerman, Sr., Tom Rotunno, Bill Gellhaus and duets on piano with Mike.  Jim has quite a collection including reed organs and digital. We had a tour of their church United

States Pipe Organ. Other guests included Hans Herr, reed organ collector with a 2/7 pipe home installation, guest Mike, with 5 grand pianos in his collection kept everything lively with duets with Glen Hough.

Our hosts were so gracious and kind.  As we were leaving they gave flowers/plants, fruits and vegetables and jams from the nearby Amish farms to TOSDV President, Anna Bonelli Downey and Tom Rotunno.

TOSDV thanks you from the bottom of our hearts for your invitation and

all the fun we had.

                                                         Anna Bonelli Downey, President
